As you may remember from our Fall Concert, our Eighth Grade Chorus, recognized as one of the best choirs in the state of Georgia, has been invited to perform at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) State In-Service on Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Savannah, GA. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of several years of chorus students at Lost Mountain Middle School and is among the highest honors any choir in the state can receive. In a non-competitive field, it is the equivalent of winning a state championship.
I need your help to raise money to pay for the trip so every student can be part of this amazing experience by taking a just a few minutes of your time.
Liberty Mutual Insurance on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw will make a donation to the department for every parent that receives a quote on auto or home insurance. You do not have to purchase a policy; you just have to receive a quote. At the very least, the LMMS Choral Department will receive a donation. And who knows? You might even save some money! Liberty Mutual will make a donation for every quote, so a home quote and an auto quote count separately!
· You may ask for a quote via email or telephone. You do not have to go to the Liberty Mutual office.
· You DO NOT have to buy an insurance policy, just receive a quote.
· A phone call will only take about ten minutes per quote.
· Mention that you are calling in support of the LMMS Chorus.
· Call Matthew Plemons at Liberty Mutual at (770) 794-0272, ext. 59615.
· DO NOT call LMMS for a quote.
· Call before November 20, 2009.
We need to raise $200 per student. If every sixth and seventh grade chorus family helps, we will make $1,500. This amount can grow exponentially if you ask others to help, too. Eighth grade chorus families are asked to get others to call. Twenty quotes will pay for your entire cost of the trip!
Parents of a sixth or seventh grade chorus member should know that this could very well be your child being honored in the near future. Our choral program is one of the best in the state, and honors and accolades are expected again. Your support of the Eighth Grade Chorus is a cast of support for your child’s chorus program.
As you know, this is part of a larger effort to ask the Lost Mountain community to help. If you would like to make a personal donation, or if you are a small business owner and would like to make a donation on behalf of your company, we will be happy to recognize you and your business in several ways including recognition in our programs, on the school podcasts, in the PTSA email blasts, in a framed certificate of appreciation, and on our school marquee on Old Mountain Road.
