7th Grade Lock-In

Dear 7th Grade Music Parents:

As we near the end of a successful 2008- 2009 school year for the Lost Mountain Middle School music programs, we are excited to offer the opportunity for our 7th grade students to attend the annual LMMS 7th grade Music Department Lock-In at Stars and Strikes (Dallas location)!  The date of this event is Friday, May 15th. The event will include Cosmic Bowling, laser tag, bumper cars, video games, music, food and fun!   The following are details of the event:

Stars and Strikes 7th Grade Music Lock-in

Friday, May 15th

12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Cost per Student:  $25.00*

(This price includes unlimited cosmic bowling, unlimited laser tag, unlimited bumper cars, pizza (for 2 hours), unlimited drinks, video games ($10 game card), as well as donuts and juice in the morning.)

*Price based on the minimum Stars and Strikes will accept to host a lock-in. In the event that less that 150 students attend, the price of the lock-in would increase and the difference would be charged by Stars and Strikes at the front doors upon arrival.

Contact Info for Stars and Strikes:

2400 Hiram Acworth Highway,  Dallas, GA 30157

Students must have their own transportation to and from the event!

Students should be dropped off at the front entrance of Stars and Strikes (located at the intersection of Hiram Acworth Hwy & Dallas Hwy) between 11:45 p.m. and midnight on Friday, May 15th.  Since Stars and Strikes is still open to the public at this time, there will be general customers inside the building when the students are dropped off. However, our students will begin the lock-in in a gathering room to watch a movie, enjoy time with their friends, and enjoy pizza and drinks before entering the game area. This room is isolated from the rest of the game area and no one outside of our lock-in group will be allowed in. After Stars and Strikes closes its business hours and cleans the game area, our students will be allowed into the game area for the remainder of the night. Only Stars and Strikes staff, LMMS students, staff, and chaperones will be in the building at this time as the doors to Stars and Strikes will be locked.

At 5:50 a.m., the staff will begin to wind the lock-in down and students will need to return bowling shoes to the desk and throw away all trash. AT 6:00 A.M., ALL PARENTS SHOULD BE OUTSIDE WAITING TO PICK UP THEIR CHILDREN!!!!  PLEASE BE PROMPT IN PICKING UP STUDENTS AT 6:00 A.M. AS WE WILL BEGIN DISMISSING THE STUDENTS AT 5:55 A.M.!  If you would like for your child to call you at 5:30 a.m. then he or she is welcome to bring his or her cell-phone to the lock-in (for this reason only). Also, if a student is going to be picked up from Stars and Strikes by someone other than their parent(s) / guardian(s) then please send a note to the directors stating who they are riding home with and that you grant them permission.

If your child is interested in attending this event, please complete the attached Permission Form and return it with a check for $25.00 (made out to Lost Mountain Middle School). Using a Cobb County Schools money envelope, turn them both into a black drop box no later than Friday, May 8th.

Also, we are in need of chaperones for this evening. Chaperones will need to arrive at Stars and Strikes with their children at 11:45 p.m. and meet in the gathering room. Chaperones will assist with the supervision of the students as well as helping with the drinks, pizza, and donuts when needed. Chaperones are encouraged to play games, bowl, and have fun with the students while maintaining a watchful eye and assisting when needed. (There is no cost to chaperone other than lost sleep!)  We must have at least 15 chaperones for this event! In the event that not enough chaperones are available for this event, the 2008-2009 lock-in will be cancelled.  If you are interested in chaperoning the lock-in, please fill out and return the attached chaperone form along with the check and field trip permission form in the county envelope. We will contact and confirm chaperones after forms are turned in.

We are looking forward to this fun-filled event to celebrate a great year! We will answer specific student questions in class, but please contact the directors with any questions you may have at 678.594.8224.
