Lane's Homeroom:  the following people need to bring in $1.00 or a 10 X13 self-addressed envelope with 2 stamps tomorrow:  Kaylyn B., Nadine F., and Annelise K.

Math:  Unit 10 Integer Tests were returned and reviewed.  The bonus questioned was worked collectively. Students should be bringing home their scantron and work sample sheet.

Students worked on a coordinate plane activity.

HW:  Bring in Box Tops.  Bring in a card or board game for Game Day tomorrow.

Math:  Textbooks and keepers were collected.  Unit 10 Test on Integers was completed.

The following students have not turned in an Integer Ball Project (these are now late):  William L., Michael S., Nasiir H., Jason B., Chanel J., Chase P.  No projects will be accepted after tomorrow.  This is a major assessment grade.

STUDY SESSION FOR MATH TEST:  TUESDAY AT 8:20 am

Math:  Integer Ball Projects were collected.  We graded our integer stations for a classwork grade.  We completed a study guide and checked it.

HW:  Unit 10 Integer Test is tomorrow (redo mistakes on study guide, study keeper #41-42, rework problems in chapter 11 including word problems), Keeper #36-42 is due tomorrow, textbooks are to be handed in tomorrow

Math:  We reviewed for our customary conversion quiz tomorrow.  Students continued working on their integer ball projects.  We have been working on this project for 2 days in class and some students have not turned in the first part to be graded.

HW:  Customary Conversion Quiz tomorrow (study your keeper and/or p. 496-498 in your textbook or online),  Integer Ball project is due Monday (completed at the beginning of class - see guidelines), Unit 10 Integer Test (study chapter 11), keeper #36-42 and your textbook are all due or on Tuesday.

Our Celebration Day is tomorrow.  Please wear red, black and white, PE type clothing and tennis shoes.  You may wear sunscreen and bring a towel and/or a water bottle if you want.  Lunch is free.  

We will remain with our homeroom class all day as we go to the activities and the cookout. Some of the activities are indoors.  All activities last about 30 minutes. 

Please bring a white t-shirt that you can color with paint to match our theme if possible.  Bring any of our other secret theme items if you make them tonight.

Please send a self addressed large manila envelope with 2 stamps or buy them from the school store for $1.00.

Math:  Rain or Shine Activity:  Apply customary conversion to solve story problems.

Focus:  Integer Ball Project.  (guidelines have been given; due date is Monday, May 18; most work should be completed in class on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)

HOMEROOM CLASS:  PLEASE SEND IN WHITE POSTER BOARD, CONSTRUCTION PAPER AND ANY STREAMERS YOU MAY HAVE TO HELP US MAKE BANNERS AND FLAGS FOR OUR CELEBRATION DAY !!!

Do you think you may be the next LMMS Idol??  If you have a talent, we need you!  Please see Mrs. Stultz this week if you are in Pod 6-1 to get an audition time.  Our LMMS Idol show will be on the last day of school.  If you are in another pod, check with your homeroom teacher to find your talent scout (teacher).

Math:  Students took a mini pre-quiz on customary conversion.  We will be reviewing this skill this week and make corrections to this quiz on Friday.

We took a quiz on multiplying and dividing integers. 

We finished our integer problem solving stations from Friday and began our Integer Ball Project.  Guidelines have been given out.  Remember you must label the panels on your ball.  The project must be finished by Monday, May 18th.  This is an in class project through Friday to be finished at home over the weekend if not completed by Friday.

HW:  Bring colored pencils, keeper #36-42 is due next Tuesday (Come to my homeroom to update your notes), Unit 10 Test on Integers is May 19th (Look at chapter 11 to prepare)

Celebration Day for 6th grade is Wednesday.  Mrs. Lane's homeroom class has decided to wear red, black and white clothes to support our secret theme.  Please wear tennis shoes.

Math:   Mini Quiz on metric conversion.

We checked Dividing Integers HP p. 98.

Wednesday's quiz on adding, subtracting, comparing and ordering integers was returned today.

I explained our in-class project "Integer Ball"  to everyone.  We will begin Monday.  You may turn in the project on Friday. May 15 or Monday, May 18.

We did an integer scramble - 20 multiplying and dividing integer problems to prepare for Monday's quiz.

Students worked in groups in 5 different stations completing real life story problems that included integers.  We will continue on Monday.

HW:  Multiply and Divide Integer Quiz on Monday.  Bring colored pencils for every day next week.

Math:  We worked in peer tutoring partnerships to practice metric conversion.

We checked Multiplying Integers HP p. 97 and reviewed the rules for multiplying and dividing integers.  These are in your keeper #42.  They are:  same sign: positive answer.   different signs: negative answer.

Students participated in a Beyond Question technology activity in which they used remotes to answer questions about integers that included all 4 operations.

We checked our classwork from yesterday:  Subtracting integer worksheet

We worked 30 problems in an Around the World Activity to review for the quiz tomorrow.

Some students who finished early extended their knowledge using versatiles.

Math:  Students took a mini pre-quiz on metric conversion.  This will be our focus for our mini lessons this week as a review.

We checked HP p. 96 as a classwork grade for subtracting integers.  Some students are still having difficulty with adding and subtracting integers.  We played subtraction integer bingo with a partner to strengthen these skills.  Then students practiced both operations again individually on a worksheet.

HW:  Finish Worksheet (subtraction side), Study keeper #41and 42 and chapter 11 for a quiz on Wednesday on compare, order, add, subtract, and absolute value
